Rabi'a was born in Holland in 1943, and immigrated to Canada
in 1958. She is passionate about her gardens and art art and
combines the two where the gardens become the stage for her
art.
You will find, sculptural mosaics, carved rock, and
ceramics. Rabi'a's pieces are inspired by found objects and
materials with no chance of duplicating, ever. She is self
taught and loves falling off the deep end, learning a new
medium, materials and its tools.
One of her favourite places in the city are scrap metal
yards... imagine finding a 45 gallon barrel of forks or ball
bearings! The possibilities! Rabi'a also loves magnets.
These things make her heart beat faster... igniting her
creativity!
Rabi'a's art is on display in her gardens. Visit her studio
and garden, or stay overnight at one of her guest cottages
on the beautiful Slocan River for a unique, peaceful
